How We Check the Air Quality inside Your Home

If any member of your family suffers from asthma, COPD, or any other lung problems, you may want to consider having an indoor air quality assessment conducted in the home you would like to purchase. Mold and mold spores can exacerbate certain conditions as well as cause health problems in an otherwise healthy person. The mold inspectors at Bryan & Bryan Inspections can perform a much-needed indoor air quality assessment in your home, and uncover any hidden or invisible issues.

Collect Samples

The first part of our indoor air quality assessment begins with taking samples. This includes both indoor and outdoor samples. We use the outdoor sample as a control variable, and the indoor sample will identify any areas of concern, such as mold growth. If there are any areas that have water damage or a musty odor, we will take samples from these locations, as well as high-traffic places in your home like the living room or kitchen.

Analyze Results

After taking samples, we send them off to a third-party laboratory. If the results lead us to believe there may be more areas of concern inside your home, we may need to perform additional tests or take more samples. We won’t perform any additional testin2 without your approval first. Depending on the results, we may refer you to a qualified professional who can take care of the specific indoor air quality issue in your home.

Provide Report

The indoor air quality report is usually ready within two to three business days of collecting the samples. It contains both a written report and a laboratory analysis. The written report includes the sampling methods we used, along with the condition of the property at the time of sample collection. The laboratory analysis will reveal if there were any signs of mold growth, water damage, musty odors, plumbing issues, and more. It will also record where these issues were discovered so you know exactly which area in your home needs attention.
